Scope of Engineering

Engineers are highly demanded in India as well as in Foreign countries. Career options in this field are huge.

Career Options After B.Tech

After B.Tech, you can go for a job. Some colleges provide campus placement to their students. If you will not get campus placement, then you can apply for the companies by our own. If you have a dream to run your own company then you can also become an entrepreneur.

Career scope in private as well as in government fields is also available. Students can apply for Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

After B.Tech, students can also go for higher studies and pursue M.tech or MBA.

Career Options After M.Tech

Teaching and research careers are open for engineers who hold postgraduate degrees in engineering. If you are holding M.tech degree then you will get preference or gain higher position in corporate companies. Both private as well as government sector gives priority to candidate with a higher degree.

You will get the job title depending upon your specialization. For example – If you have completed engineering with Computer Science branch then you may be designated as software engineer, software developer, system designer, etc.

Common Job title for engineers are:

  • Chief engineer
  • Project Engineer
  • Senior engineer
  • Assistant Engineer
  • System Engineer
  • Professor
  • Researcher

Salary

A fresher engineer can earn the 2.5 lakh to 3.5 lakh per annum in India. But, if he moves to the abroad, he can earn around $80000 to 100000 per annum.

It is a good salaried professional course rather than some others.

Courses

  1. An Engineering program which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic sciences to technology with relevant practice through labs and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place. Students will develop competence in areas like Signal Processing, Communication systems, VLSI Design, Embedded systems and Robotics etc.
  2. Civil engineers get recruited by Construction Firms, Defence Forces Development Boards Municipal Bodies, etc. They work in public and private sectors in all branches of design, construction, maintenance of roads, highways, bridges, dams, canals, docks, airports, housing complexes and in environmental management, etc. Civil engineers also work in quality testing laboratories, Military and defence services and as consultants.
  3. Mechanical Engineering is the evergreen branch of engineering. Market scenario and demand of engineering graduates change every year but the demand of mechanical engineering degree will never be obsolete. Mechanical engineering graduates can find placements in almost every sector, right from construction sector to steel industry and from automobile to software.
  4. With the pursuit of B.Tech. Computer Science course any individual is prepared to take jobs into various software firms and organizations which provide a platform for their talent to be nurtured. The trend set in getting a job is generally depended upon on-campus placements.
