NEET Result 2023: Check NEET UG Result Date, Qualifying Score & Marks

The NEET result or scorecard is the most crucial part of the exam. It not only depicts the scores or the percentile obtained in the exam but also determines the admission chance to candidates’ choice of course and colleges. The result of NEET is declared online on the official website of the exam, in the form of a scorecard. National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body also releases the merit list of the exam wherein the All India Ranks (AIR) of the toppers are released, which is further segregated across categories. The NEET result or scores are valid for only one year. NEET 2023 was conducted on May 7. Hence, the tentative date for NEET UG 2023 result is the fourth week of June. Along with the NEET result, NTA also releases the NEET cutoff (qualifying marks) and final answer keys.

Although NTA released the NEET 2023 important dates on March 6, along with the release of the official notification, information bulletin and application form, the authorities have not announced the date of releasing the NEET 2023 result yet. In general, NTA releases the NEET result within a month to 45 days after conducting the test.

 

NEET Results for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats

The NEET counselling result is declared after each round of counselling for the 15 per cent AIQ seats. In the table below, we bring the NEET counselling for each round.

NEET Results for 85% State Quota Seats

Q: When will NTA release the NEET 2023 result?

A: The result of NEET 2023 is expected to be released in the fourth week of June. The NEET result will be declared in an online mode. Candidates will have to log in with their registration credentials and download their scorecard in PDF format. NTA will also release a merit list containing the name, Roll Number, All India Rank and Percentile of the candidates. NTA will also release the cutoff and the final answer key of NEET along with the result.

Q: Where will the NEET 2023 result be declared?

A: The NEET 2023 result will be declared on the official websites of NTA and NEET. The URLs where the result or the scorecard of NEET 2023 will be available for download are as follows:

A: NEET 2023 result has to be checked in an online mode only. The step-by-step procedure to check and download the NEET 2023 result or scorecard.
1. Visit the official website of NEET 2023
2. Click on the tab indicating NEET 2023 result
3. Log in with NEET 2023 application number and password or date of birth
4. Download the NEET 2023 scorecard in PDF format. Candidates must preserve the scorecard till the conclusion of their admission process.

Q: How will I come to know when the NEET result is announced?

A: NTA will announce the NEET 2023 result declaration on the official websites. NTA will also inform candidates who had appeared for the exam through SMS and email. Various media portals and social media platforms will announce the declaration of results. Test takers must keep a check on the official websites as well as opt for notifications or alerts at the news and social media platforms to get instantly notified about the declaration of NEET 2023 result.

Q: Will NTA send the NEET scorecard by post?

A: No, NTA does not send the NEET scorecards by post to any candidate. The scorecard has to be downloaded online from the official website of NTA NEET or sent by NTA through email. Candidates must take multiple copies of printout and preserve those till the admission process is complete. It is one of the most crucial documents required for the counselling or the admission process. In case candidates lose the soft copy, they can download the NEET scorecard from the NEET website archive section or the DigiLocker or Sandes portal of the Government of India.

Q: What is the validity of the NEET scorecard?

A: NEET score card is valid for admission to the current academic session only. NEET 2023 result cannot be carried forward for admission to the 2024-25 academic session. Hence, in case a candidate fails to qualify for NEET 2023 or unable to take admission in that academic year, then they have to appear for NEET next year and seek admission. Beyond a year, the NEET scorecard will just be another document or a record to prove the appearance in NEET.

Q: I could not qualify NEET. Can I still download my NEET result?

A: Yes, you will still be able to download the result of NEET by logging in to the official exam website. The scorecard will consist of information such as subject-wise and overall scores, percentiles and All India Rank, along with the qualifying cutoff or marks. In case a candidate does not qualify for NEET then he/she would not be able to participate in the counselling process. However, they may take admission to other courses conducting admission through NEET scores, for which counselling process is not conducted.

Q: What is the difference between NEET scorecard and NEET merit list?

A: NEET scorecard is an individual document which carries information regarding candidates’ obtained scores, percentiles and ranks. On the other hand, merit list is a common document which consists of the list of test takers along with their scores and ranks. Both the documents are prepared by NTA the exam conducting body. The NEET scorecard is issued only to candidates who can download it by logging in through their registration credentials and nobody else can access it. NEET merit list, on the other hand, is released publicly and includes the All India Rank list of candidates along with their obtained scores, percentiles and state.

Q: Can I apply for admission to AIIMS and JIPMER, Puducherry on the basis of the NEET result?

A: Yes, AIIMS and JIPMER conduct admissions on the basis of NEET result or scores. After the implementation of the NMC ACT NEET is the sole entrance examination for admission to UG medical courses in India. Earlier, AIIMS and JIPMER used to conduct their own entrance exams which were scrapped in 2020. The admission to these institutes will be done through the counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

Q: What should we do after the NEET result?

A: After the declaration of the NEET result, candidates have to first check whether they have qualified for the exam or not, by comparing their obtained score with the qualifying or cutoff marks. In case they do, they will have to get prepared for the next round, which is the NEET counselling process. For this, they must keep the necessary documents, including the printout of the NEET scorecard ready. They should also keep checking the national and state-level counselling websites to avoid missing important notifications. In case they are unable to meet the NEET cutoff, they will have to explore other courses which conduct admission through NEET scores and plan their future course of action accordingly.
